It’s an upcoming general feature, but in the meantime several of the third party apps let you block by instance. I use Connect, and I’ve heard Boost does too.
I blocked hexbear, because they tend to start fights everywhere, and the NSFW instances so I can use my phone around my kids.

I filter that whole server. It’s a ridiculous amount of propaganda.
Users need the power to block servers.
