Ok, so it’s time for round #8 of our community challenge. Having won last week’s challenge, it’s my turn to open the new one.
Formatting is shamelessly stolen from @Anahkiasen@lemmy.blahaj.zone, thank you for your hard work :)
Theme
This week’s theme is “Distant lands”. I adore stories about exploration, travels and faraway lands (real and imaginative) and would love to see what sparks your imagination.

Past entries
Bing thingy, Prompt was: "Deep under ocean city, landscape, super realistic style "
same prompt:
Most upvoted +3 Clear Theme +1 Workflow +1 Total 5 points Congratulations on first place! An excellent picture with lots of nice details. The underwater setting gives it an almost dreamlike quality.
It’s your turn to choose a new theme!Wow, was not expecting that. Hmmm, How about “Unreal Cartoons”?
Sounds good to me :) You can make a new post in the community, just follow the formatting of this post if you like. I’ll pin it once you’ve set it up.
The idea is: A cozy room with magical windows showing distant exotic lands.
Made with comfyui. The Workflow should be embedded in the image.
This is a bit more complicated regarding the generation process.
- Model: realisiticVisionV51VAE
- Sampler for all: uni_pc
- Steps: for the Base Image 20, everything else 60
Base Image with Multi Area Conditioning:
Negative Prompt: ugly
Base Prompt: cozy medieval living room with 2 windows
Multi Area 1 and 2 Prompt: Train window
This generates a base image which is the base for the further processing.
Window Image 1:
- Positive: Magical, mystical Landscape
- Negative: Person, blurry, boring, close-up, dark (optional), details are low, distorted details, eerie, foggy, gloomy , grains, grainy, grayscale, homogenous, low contrast, low quality, lowres, macro, monochrome (optional), multiple angles, multiple views, opaque, overexposed, oversaturated, plain, plain background, portrait, simple background, standard, surreal, unattractive, uncreative, underexposed
Window Image 2:
- Positive: Raw Photo an alien landscape with alien tentacly purple plants, shot on canon eos
- Negative: Person, blurry, boring, close-up, dark (optional), details are low, distorted details, eerie, foggy, gloomy , grains, grainy, grayscale, homogenous, low contrast, low quality, lowres, macro, monochrome (optional), multiple angles, multiple views, opaque, overexposed, oversaturated, plain, plain background, portrait, simple background, standard, surreal, unattractive, uncreative, underexposed
I take the latent from the base image and combine the latents of the window images with the base image.
After that i do a final sampling to blend all together and 2 Upscales.
That comfyui interface looks incredibly powerful, Thanks a lot for that workflow, I know what to learn next
I like the explaination and the work behind your picture. Is the screenshot from blender?
The screenshot is from the comfyui interface. Here is a full view of the workflow (the workflow can be imported in your local comfyui instance if you drag the original picture of my post into the comfyui interface [You may have to install some custom nodes]) :
Wow, this looks very impressive. Is it difficult to learn this tool?
The wide variety of nodes can be a bit overwhelming but in general it is a logical process with many good youtube tutorials. I had a little experiennce with the node concept from blender but i think even without that it is easy to use. The Bigger Problem will be your disk space when you sudenly have 50 different Models on your harddrive ;-)
Thanks !
2nd most upvoted +1 Clear Theme +1 Workflow +1 Most original +1 Total 4 points Congratulations on (shared) second place! I love the end result and really appreciate the thorough explanation of your work flow. The magical aspect of having two different views from the same room is really nice and very original.
Thank you very much! Looking forward to the next challenge!
I wanted to make something looking like Moebius’ landscapes.
“landscape strange vegetals tropical forest birds sky style of moebius”
Model: toonyou_beta6Second attempt.
I think that the first attempt was great, but there is no trace of exotic civilization in it.
So I made small changes in the prompt to get a cabin, where you can project yourself in this distant world.I hate to be nitpicking, but which picture are you submitting for the challenge? The first one is getting all the votes now.
You can resubmit this new image if you like and remove the old one?
Clear theme +1 Workflow +1 Total 2 points Thank you for your image! I love the art style and vibrant colors. I does look very exotic and it makes you want to see more of it.
Prompt: create me an image of view through a castle window looking out over exotic distant lands. The image should be in the style of paper cut outs that are layered on top of each other.
last entry +1 Clear Theme +1 Workflow +1 OP favorite +1 Total 4 points Congratulations on (shared) second place! This is a really nice image. I love the window framing the beautiful view outside. The exotic castles overlooking the sea are practically inviting you to go out and explore them. The paper cut out style gives it a very clear and interesting detail. Especially the mountains and clouds in the background look great.
Prompt to Bing Image Creator/Dal•e 3: a view from inside an expansive glass dome on the surface of Mars. a cityscape below, and weak sunshine from above
Clear theme +1 Workflow +1 Total 2 points Thank you for your entry and for the most distant land. I do wonder if that dome is still necessary if there are already clouds outside though :) The fish-eye lens effect is quite nice.
Here’s a mini cave ecosystem that I imagined for a sci-fi story. Not quite everything turned out but I like the style of this one:
Bing Prompt: A dark underground cavern in igneous rock. There are bats hanging from the ceiling, with bat guano on the ground. A small cloud of moths rises from the ground. Small, low bushes send roots through the floor of the cave, and grow luminescent berries that light the cave with a pale glow. A woman doctor with messy brown hair sits on the floor with her head in her hands. photorealistic style
Clear theme +1 Workflow +1 Total 2 points Thank you for your entry! The cave looks interesting and I can imagine it would make a great setting for your story. I like the little lights in the tree, even if they didn’t turn out to be berries. What is the story going to be about?
The settings are a series of planets which were each seeded by ancient aliens with prehistoric humans and a handful of Earth species that complemented the environment, like little terrariums. For this underground rogue planet, the species included bats and moths for pollination and fertilization, and yams for the volcanic soil.
Here, a visiting doctor from a sunny planet is driven to hide in the caves, a pariah because of her lack of night vision and sun-adapted features. Clouds of bats and moths in a dim moist cave lit by fairy tail glowing berries seemed like an interesting place to bring alive with AI!
Clear theme +1 Total 1 point Thank you for your entry and definitely most alien distant land :) What kind of art style did you select for this? It looks very alien and a little unsettling.
“giger style” 😅
master of the unsettling
Stable diffusion, Model : realisticVisionV40_v40VAE
Prompt : [One boat], on the sea, a hostile land at the horizon, year 1720, (pirate)
Negative prompt : modern, close-up, humans
Interestingly enough, adding the pirate, even with a reduced weight really changed the outcome, and basically switched to a “pirate movie/game universe” instead of a “classical painting universe”
Clear theme +1 Workflow +1 Total 2 points Thank you for your entry! It’s always interesting to see how influential a single word can be. I guess pirates feature so heavily in movies and games that it’s almost impossible not to end up with one. Maybe a term like privateer of buccaneer could give different results in the future?
I like that you went with the travel aspect of the theme.
