It’s great I just wish Google Messages for Google Fi would get feature parity - or even RCS, since Google is pushing it so hard :/

wait, what? I used to be on Fi and I used Messages and RCS without issue. I would not be surprised if google fucked things up here, but I’m also surprised Fi still exists.

It’s if you link your account to Google Messages, it says that you have to disable chats/RCS and then you lose the ability to leave reactions, etc.

I only link my account because I can use voicemail in the web app and it’s easier than the visual voicemail app on samsung. :/

that’s wild, I don’t understand how they so consistently screw up messaging. It seems like Fi went from being a seamless experience (hangouts integration) to an afterthought.

It has to do with RCS encryption. You have to disable RCS before syncing with google fi because google can’t intercept and display your messages if they’re encrypted. It can sync unencrypted MMS or SMS just fine.

Personally I prefer google not destroy encryption of a new standard for convenience and if you don’t care you can use the old standard.

I love the animated emoji. I’m pretty meh about Android ATM, but little things like that really make me like it more.
