This is a sort of follow-up from this post and this post. I decided to check the data of all subscribers to television@piefed.social and discovered that about a month ago, probably more like six-weeks - pretty much all lemmy.world based subscribers were purged from this community. Literally no-one except old subscribers from lemm.ee and beehaw.org (for some reason?) were listed as subscribers as viewed from piefed.social.
According to the count from piefed.social, television@piefed.social has 125 lemmy.world based subscribers.
If you look at it from lemmy.world though, it says 802 local subscribers. That’s a massive drop. lemmy.zip I record 95 subscribers. Looking at it from lemmy.zip: 561 local subscribers.
So anyone who is an old subscriber, who may even be receiving updates still - please hit unsubscribe and resubscribe if you have not already.

It’s a purge of subscriptions from piefed.socials perspective. So lemmy still thinks you are subscribed, and since there are other lemmy.world subscribers from piefeds perspective, the television feed will still go to lemmy.world
But for smaller instances, this may not be the case. If piefed.social throws out all the subscribers from an instance, it will still look like they are subscribed from their perspective, but because piefed.social doesn’t recognise that - no-one on the instance will get any new posts.
This is actually the case, I’ve discovered on midwest.social. There are no listed subscribers from there anymore, but midwest.social registers 10 local subscribers if you look. But they aren’t getting any updates because piefed threw them out.
Same happened with ttrpg.network, although I’ve made a local account there and joined it to bring it back. (Piefed doesn’t work with lemmy-federate).
