It is difficult to tell what links are shared because they speak intelligently about stupid politics and what links are shared as examples of stupid politics.

Most of the time it is obvious when you click through but it creates a constant whiplash effect for the reader, am I about to read something REALLY dumb and toxic or actually quite good?

I suggest some kind of tag system when you are sharing an article or link because it is an example of stupid politics to differentiate it from good coverage on stupid politics.

i think this community is just a mirror of the reddit sub. at least i don’t see any meaningful discussion happening here.

also, my understanding is that stupidpol is a pun on stupid identity politics, and i’d say that not all who criticize id politics are smart to begin with. so maybe if links are confusing it’s because the op is also confused.

(or maybe I’m the dummy here and I’ve missed the important bits)

There’s some good commentary here. Hopefully it will keep growing. We could stop copying from /r/stupidpol then. Starting a community is hard.

To be clear: this is a community for leftists. Same as /r/stupidpol. It’s OK here to criticize shitlibs, if it’s from a leftist perspective. No tankies allowed. Socialism for sane people.

I like deciding which is which for myself. I can copy over the flair that exists, though. Lemmy doesn’t yet support tags/flair, but I can use the brackets like you have.
