Why are you here? What are you after?

I have tons in my cluttered mind to share that I think fits an exchristian community. I am interested in hearing the group’s thoughts on what content you’re looking for when you come here.

Further, anticipating our growth, what will future users come here for? What should a “proper exchristian community” look like and provide for the myriad of different people that may need it? Thoughts?

I think I’m mostly looking for a place for us exchristians to share and discuss our thoughts and experiences. I like to read and engage in these stories and reasonings, it feels supportive and validating for my own experience.

I also love anti-apologetic content and everything related to secular studies on christianity and the bible, I think these subjects are way more interesting when you can look at them without christian lenses, and it can also be helpful for deconstructing people who are looking for new perspectives on religion

I’m here to offer support and guidance to people who are struggling with deconversion or agonizing over the decision to start. Posts that offer counter-apologetics are a good choice to that end.

That’s pretty much where I am too. It occurred to me though that, since this community is new, most of the current members may fall into the same category as us. I wonder if we really have that many members struggling with or starting deconversion currently.

With that in mind, I was also trying to think of other content that would “help the helpers” or maybe just content that’s interesting or entertaining for the deconverted. The goal being to drive discussion and engagement while we grow.
