I have and can vouch for a Biden’s Bane, got several of them.

It’s gonna suggest retardedly long screws to keep the barrel retainer attached. Don’t. Use your eyes and pick screws of the right length.

watched a video of a dude emptying like 5 mags, with a predictable outcome; his conclusion, it will last for 30-60 rounds. the whole thing was kinda pointless, everything was melting at that point.

so what I don’t understand, is that damage cumulative? like what if it ain’t several mags in succession, but a coupla rounds here and there? the barrel gets to cool down in the interim? I’m sure it won’t be a heirloom thing, but the “test” seems excessive to me.

If you manage schedule of fire to stay below the heat deflection temperature of your material, it could last a lot longer (potentially thousands of rounds). Using a more heat tolerant material like PA or PPA also makes a big difference.

Twas Ivan, twas in PLA, twas indeed excessive. It was a burndown test, not a demonstration of longevity, and he states as much in the video.

If you do one in Nylon, you’ll get a lot more mileage out of it. I’ve FRT’d a mag or two in a BB and not had issues. Beyond that, it starts to get dicey.

Notably, the Orca has the same reaction to the same string of fire.
