@PugJesus “First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shalt be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.”

The Pythons’ instruction are missing a step for this one - that’s a fuse up top you have to manually light, like a cartoon bomb!

I’ve always loved “Five is right out!”

Is… This why cartoon bombs look the way they do?

Nah, that’s just what most 17th-18th century AD grenades looked like.

This WW1 design is a retro throwback that was made because it was cheap.

Just a community for everyone to share artifacts, reconstructions, or replicas for the historically-inclined to admire!

Generally, an artifact should be 100+ years old, but this is a flexible requirement if you find something rare and suitably linked to an era of history, not a strict rule. Anything over 100 is fair game regardless of rarity.
