She would be in service until 2006 when she sunk outside of Japan during transport. Numerous attempts at salvage has been attempted, but under sea currents and ship traffic has made it too difficult.

She was one of the very first purpose built cruise ships, beyond that, I don’t know.
Not particularly famous now afaik, but it really was back in its day.
