    The video from the thumbnail is really appalling. A lot of “if we didn’t brutalize and rape these indigenous people, their lives would be so much worse!”

      Yeah seriously. We could’ve just traded with them. We could’ve provided aid when smallpox and plague ravaged them. They’d’ve been fine

      Part of why we learn and teach history is so in the future we make better decisions. Brushing off evil and saying it was good in the long run is absolutely inexcusable because of that.

    So, what’s the solution when christo-fascists take over the department of education? I assume “vote for better candidates” and “persuade them with reason” aren’t viable options.

      I just wanna fucking leave, personally. I don’t want my kids going to school here. Our schools are already in the pocket of big oil (great video covering the topic here ), and now this? It’s too much. At least the article says some ‘bigger schools’ have denied using the materials, but how long will that last? Now that the state is partnered with them, I feel like any teacher could take and use their materials in their classes if they feel like it.
