What about wild cats/felids, do they ever indulge in fermented rotting fruit that becomes alcoholic?

I’ve definitely heard of cats drinking someone’s unattended beer. Or like if it’s spilled on the floor, licking some. It’s an immediate vet visit kind of situation. I think it’s just curiosity from the smell.

Alcohol poisoning from beer, wine, and liquor is rare in cats, since they typically find these beverages distasteful. However, it still can occur.

I guess most wouldn’t go for it but some are curious and even a lick can poison them pretty badly. I think some cats like the smell of yeast a lot, so they’re probably extra susceptible.
