Turkey’s newly integrated SİPER-1 long-range air defense system now adds a deep coverage layer to the national missile shield. Developed under the Presidency of Defence Industries with ASELSAN, Roketsan and TÜBİTAK SAGE, SİPER-1 has completed acceptance testing and been officially inducted into Turkey’s multi-layer “Steel Dome” air defense network. This homegrown system complements shorter-range Hisar batteries and is a strategic step toward reducing reliance on foreign platforms such as the U.S. Patriot or the Russian S-400.
