Kawasaki’s K-RACER helicopter and BladeRobots are automating the dangerous task of turbine blade maintenance.

Kawasaki Heavy Industries and BladeRobots have established a strategic partnership to develop an automated solution for maintaining the leading edges of wind turbine blades.

This collaboration involves the integration of an unmanned helicopter, known as the K-RACER, with a robotic maintenance tool.

“In this system, K-RACER lifts the robot onto the blade, where the robot performs maintenance work automatically,” said Kawasaki in a press release.
