Hello, we’re nearing the end of the year and I’m looking for non-personal suggestions to fill my bucket list with.

The theme I’m going for is indcated in the title of this post. Non-fiction humanities is preferred but I definitely wouldn’t mind other genres. Also, I don’t want to restrain myself to one side of political spectrum, the more diverse the better.

Thank you in advance!

I would highly recommend reading Less is More by Jason Hickel (An economic anthropologist from Eswatini). I’m also pretty interested in reading his book The Divide but it’s still only on my to read list. Maybe I’ll get to read it within the next few months.

Maybe you could give Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo a try? They’re both written by Jose Rizal, and depicts life in the Philippines during the colonial rule of Spain (in the lens of fictional tragic romance). I have only finished El Filibusterismo for school last February, though.

I highly appreciate your helpful comment. This perhaps is a good introduction for the rise of a nationalistic spirit anong the colonized people. I will keep them in mind, thanks!
