      The goal of the community is to highlight all the passive ad we consume and propagate. Hopefully next time you see that brand, the familiarity with the name will not be reassuring but a reminder how they highjack our brains

    The reason is to get the point across that it was assembled from parts and not just moved into the room

      Yeah, definitely part of the storytelling. Saying it was from IKEA means that they spent a good chunk of time assembling just for it to be blanketed when he was completed.

    Ironically Hyacinth would insist that you know where the sofa was bought from, except in this case she wouldn’t say it’s from Ikea, but that it’s a “custom made import from Sweden.”

    Hyacinth: “It’s my sister, Violet, the one with the Mercedes, sauna and room for a pony.“

    Hyacinth: “If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s snobbery and one-upmanship. People trying to pretend they’re superior. Makes it so much harder for those of us who really are.”
