Or some of the audience didn’t get the joke and doubled down on being right to, as was the case here.

A lot of people thought that A Modest Proposal was sincere and as I mentioned to another of the wooshed complainers, people who didn’t get it share The Onion articles as if they were real news all the time.

If satire is TOO obvious, it loses its edge. If it’s easy to be understood immediately by those actively wanting it to be sincere, it’s not good satire, so I guess you only like bad satire like Babylon Bee or whatever equivalent fits your politics better 🙄

Dude, I’m a big fan of satire. You’re still here, days later, trying to convince me of how funny this “satire” is and how I don’t get it. Satire and dry humor are a second language to me. This is just a very shitty attempt at satire. Go take a nap or something.

Because you’re still here, days later, insisting that you not getting it automatically means that it was bad or not even satire.

Satire and dry humor are a second language to me

Must be damn near illiterate then

This is just a very shitty attempt at satire.

It’s ok to admit you didn’t get it at first. You don’t have to deflect your feelings of inadequacy.

Go take a nap or something.

I have. And I’ll stop replying to your bullshit when you stop giving me bullshit to refute 🤷
