I’m making 20 pieces that are inspired by the original set but they have been scaled up a bit and I had to adjust the design and proportions. The old 2D art doesn’t actually make sense when you start trying to translate it into 3D.
You should be able to do what you are after I think.
Neat. I had been inspired by a YouTube channel that pasted the original cardstock onto foam bases, painting the bases but leaving the cardstock art visible which created a hybrid piece of terrain.
Your stuff seems a close approximation though. Are you going to put up STLs? I’m working on some retro-style Ork prints to use in a faux starter box game some time this year.
I’m still working through the last few ruins, but once they are done it will be up on my Cults 3D page. I don’t have a fixed timescale, but some time this year (it might be next week, it might be next month, it might be a little longer, real life dictates the time I have to work on it a the moment).
Which retro ork prints are you using? I know that there are scans of the 2nd edition starter models floating around, but if you want something a bit more dynamic Jazzmantis/Red Nebular has some lovely free and paid options.
Awesome, thanks for checking back in. Yes the models I used were whipped up by a friend who was eyeballing the originals and make quick proxies. Your stuff is very detailed!
Thanks.

Your post about that here inspired this project.

I think I saw you post that you had used some different models, but I said that I would send you a link when they were up so here you go https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/retro-gothic-ruins
Can’t wait to read your battle report.
