Imo, that was intentional to get double dip profita on mostly the same work.
I fully believe all of this is just holdover for the next mainline mario kart title, which will be on the next switch device within the first 3 months of its release next year.
I guess that’s why they’ve been adding the tracks to MK8 Deluxe…
