This is one of the subtle underlying messages in Satisfactory. You’re a pioneer from Ficsit landing on a lush, multi-biome planet there to exploit its mineral resources by building a massive chain of automated factories.

There aren’t pollution mechanics. The mineral nodes don’t deteriorate. The loss of ecology due to habitat exploitation is minimal, and yet the massive industrial parks where biome used to be explains it all.

kinda also factorio as the factory consumes all natural resources, turning forests, grasslands, deserts, oceans and even all natural wildlife into the same shade of gray topped with expansive machinery that robs the land of every last drop of ore and oil replacing it with pollution.

Satisfactory doesn’t care, but Factorio makes it the point of the game.

Wipe out the native Flora and Fauna and cover the whole world in glorious concrete for a move speed buff.
