In this 2019 /r/kratom post, AzulKat highlights some of the interesting responses from fhietra899 in an AMA I’m an Indo. I will answer good question about kratom in here…

I thought it might be worth reposting this post from a few months ago. It was made by an Indonesian exporter offering to answer questions about kratom. I know it gets confusing with all the contradicting information and misinformation that’s on the web about kratom, strains, vein colors, processing etc. It’s always good to have some first hand information. As we piece together more info, we get a better picture of what’s really going on with kratom.

Here are some highlights.

- First question : actually its just 3 coloured veins. Most of Indonesian leafs has red veined, the white and the green veined was rare in here.

Yellows and gold made from mixed powder… sometimes vends mixed it from red and white, sometimes its comin from red and green. To make really yellow and gold its hard to controlling the drying process… so most of vends make it from mixing

And this is important informations. All veins powders colours not affected by their veins colours. Its just drying activity process that make it to Green coloured powders, white coloured powders, and red colouref powders

-Yes… green veined leafs can turns into green, white, or red powders due to drying process… And good drying process is with indoors drying. Ex : to make good green we should make its dry in indoors in 1-2 days, and then make it dry outdoors for 2-4 hours (depend on sun condition). To make white its not far away to make green, its just need longer time to drying it in indoors, its around 2-3 days at then outdoors drying for 5-7 hours. And to make reds there’s good ways with half fermenting process. Its just little bit different with bentuangie process, to make reds we need to covering it with plastics and drying it outdoors for several days (sometimes1-2days) and then drying it in indoors for 1 day, and the latest process drying it outdoors again for 2-3hours.

For that drying process we didnt classified it what Veined are the leafs, bcause of most Indonesian kratom leafs is Red veined.

-Yes, its true its all about the drying process that make its green, white and red. Some ppl categorized spiked leafs as Maeng Da. But actually there’s just a few of spiked leafs produced by kratom trees. Honestly, the “maeng da” in markets is not created from all spiked leafs, remembering its just a little of spiked produces by kratom trees .

-Actually between maeng da and horned its just the same. Maeng da and horned created by folks from veteran vendors, all i want to say its just same leafs.

-Premium kratom plantation?? All plantations in here have same trees, same mittagyna speciosa… there’s no premium kratom plantation. And actually its just need 8 months to harvest the trees in plantation. Some of premium kratom usually produce from wild harvested

-Actually, there’s just a little ppl in Indo takin kratom. Even we’re as the biggest kratom exporters, we didnt have many ppl consume kratom. BPOM (Indo Fda) has prehibit us to consume kratom

-In my experiences dry season or at least sunny weeks produce good leafs. During that time we usually have really strong stuff. Water amount in the soils affecting too, when its rainy season, we usuall to got little bit weaker stuff than we got in the sunny.

Q: How do Farmers know which Strain they are Farming. I know all comes from the Same area so i am Just curious

A: Its all about the drying process… we’re as exporters requesting our farmers to produce what we need every weeks… most of our camp made 3 basic strains, and we usually made more for the green…

-I think for Vietnam, thai, and another strains named from another country is just a name… All stuff comin from Indonesia.

-There’s no leaf manipulations that we applicate on the field. The yellow sunda, some ppl realize its just a yellow strains that named with Sunda, and i suggested when you got real good strains just take it as much as you can, its natural products and its no consistency for 100%.

Honestly we didnt use any fertilizer in our plantations, with prices like now, and US vendors want more cheaper from wholesale, we cant give any treatment to plantations. We just let the soil give its nutritions for our plants, remembering we have very good soil component.

-For some wild sources we cut the big trees to 2meters left and the leafs will grow again. The best kratom harvested in dried seasons/sunny. And about the mit content, i think there’s several factors that influences this content. First the season, soil component, and process. Yes, its just marketing name and for classified where its come and harvested, and its not true for all strains, just a part of it. Maybe just a few big vendors testing their stuff for every batch, more bigger the vendors i think they wouldnt have time to test it. Eventough not all Indonesian take kratom and really know the details kf kratom effects. In my experiences Jongkong, Sekadau, and Hulu kapuas has most potent strains, its bcause of their soil component and their process has goin vetter than another place in Indo.

-Kratom grow all over in Indonesia… but not all area got harvested. And not all Indonesian aware about its plant. Just Sumatra and Borneo has harvested this plant. Yes, our goverment try to ban it in Indo. We’re try make it not got ban, hope we will successfull to make it keep legal in here.

-Unfortunately, Yes it is. Our goverment has made a plan to put kratom as illegal stuff. They planned to make it same place like meth, and cocain, and another illegal drugs…

Our associations has start to fight it, remembering our nations is the biggest kratom exporters and so many ppl life hanging in this business.

There’s many suppliers in Indo that has good connections and has settled with alternative shipping methode, and many of new suppliers that didnt know how to ships with another ways.

-Its still possible to send kratom, the final decission will be in June 2019. We still have time to fight it. All farmers, and stakeholders has joined to fight .

-That’s why AKA helpin us in here… we still have few months to give some arguments, research about kratom, and makin sure our goverment this plant should be still legal…
