Finally have time to write about my recent intensive course I took for German:
It as honestly a much needed boost in my learning. A structured, short, clear in-person course. Expensive but well worth it to get back into more steady language learning for someone like me who easily loses track.
It was A1 course, which was easy for me since I feel like I’m somewhere closer to end of A2, but I felt like I really needed refreshing and I felt like I’ve missed some grammar (it was really nice to just ask the teacher about things that have been bugging me).
This is good to build a solid foundation. I tried looking for something similar before, but most places require a certain number of student before they start the intensive program, which never happens.
Very true! And yeah same here with the minimum required amount of students, but I’m fortunate enough to live in a big city so there are always students.
Hope you get to do one at some point aswell! I assume you live in a smaller town?
Small city. I checked again and it was not available, they will contact me if they have enough student. Maybe I will just do some lessons with a normal in person teacher at some point in the future for about 5-10 lesson, mainly to improve speaking, pronunciation and identify any gaps.
Damn… And 100% recommend taking any group lessons still. It’s educational but also kinda fun to be in a structured lesson with other people doing the same thing.
Let us know if you do! Always interested in hearing about experiences with languagelearning (hence these weekly threads).
I’m glad to hear it went well! Now that you got the boost, how do you plan to carry that momentum forward?
I’ve decided to finish the books we were going through in the course by myself, and then register to the next course once I’m done :)
Also bought some extra exercise books!
But yeah that was the last intensive course I’ll take next to a full-time job. Was a bit exhausting going to a course for 3hrs everyday after work…
