Say what you will about biology but it can last 100 years without turning off, not even once and the only reason we die of old age is because the body essentially turns itself off to prevent cancer(Long cool story). Very few machines can say the same without being rebuilt in some way

Seems like the initial trials are using it as a temporary measure until a donor heart can be transplanted
