    Well I’m mostly thinking they’re gonna benefit depending on how ignored they end up being in any potential conflict, as a consequence of not being in that conflict. That’s mostly speculation, I don’t have anything to actually back it up beyond my meanderings

      I see what you mean, benefitting through not getting involved. I can totally see that going for South America Unfortunately, Central Africa would get deeply pulled into such conflict given its vast rare earth resources, so I doubt they could benefit.

        Yeah, possibly. Either way hard to predict how such a hypothetical would end up. Maybe you’ll get stuff like china coming in and providing guarantees to Africa etc

        Either way, probably a mess

          last time I visited West Africa there was an incredible amount of Chinese investment going in. With the US abandoning soft power, I can’t see how China wouldn’t use this vacuum to take over the US’s role.
