Makes sense. If “Russians live there” is poo-tin’s justification for starting a war then complete derussification is the only logical response.
Giving everyone customized solutions to their individual problems would be ideal, but at this scale, it’s impractical. A “rip the band aid off” solution is rough, but at least the issue will be resolved in a generation or two.
