Valve have updated the developer guidelines for releasing a game on Steam, making it clear that the scourge of mobile gaming advertising-based business models are not going to work on Steam.

    Garbage like that has no place anywhere.

    If app developers can’t get money from paid apps, then it makes sense to run ads. Especially if they do offer a paid (ad-free) version.

    But if it’s a paid app already, like in Steam, it should definitely be ad-free.
