I was complaining about Lemmy becoming an echo-chamber and not having enough alternative voices.

Nope. And the Lemmy democrats were so in favor of an echo-chamber that they pushed to ban and remove anyone who didn’t worship their every move. Then they were shocked they lost. LMAO
I don’t get the echo-chamber thing. Usually that is because you haven’t got enough faith in your own arguments. Similar to religious fanatics - opposing their beliefs can get you killed. Everybody makes mistakes and is wrong sometimes and that certainly applies to our governments. Trump will make a bunch of them too, pretty sure the average conservative will not agree with everything he does.
I argued with a leftist recently who thought it made perfect sense for the Biden administration to cut all contact with the Putin administration.
The left seems to view information and points of view as a sort of fluid that simply mixes in a person’s head.
They don’t believe in their own ability to consider an alternate point of view without adopting it, nor to speak with someone they disagree with, without becoming brainwashed by that person.
Like not wanting your blue water to come into contact with any red water because then your blue will get more red.

I don’t believe anyone on the left supports wasting money on ridiculous projects though. Also the woke agenda is not supported by everyone. Hopefully once the dust has settled from the Trump administration, the left will take a good look at themselves and start to acknowledge some of their biggest mistakes.As a European I am glad Trump is shaking things up. All because I post news articles about Trump. I don’t write them. And I don’t even advocate for everything he does. But I post opinions against the norm, so they wanna ban me!

Well, I think that’s a little bad faith. I think if Hitler rose from the dead and took control of America or the UN or something you’d be distressed as well. This is more the result of buying too many media lies for too long than people just straight up not being able to think.
(I struggle to see how someone who gets all their facts and news from CNN or MSNBC aren’t able to think as well as people who watch Fox News, the information presented almost always lines up with the narratives they are portraying)

I never block anyone because of his/her opinion unless the person is rude. I truly believe most people want the best for everyone though. They just have different opinions how to achieve that.
