I have added some rules to the sidebar of this community. There weren’t any rules before. Give me feedback on the new rules if you have any. Should any of them be removed or modified? Should any new rules be added? Let’s discuss it.
I considered adding a rule against memes and one against propaganda, but I have refrained from that for now.

About past posts. I had decided to retroactively apply these new rules to some recent posts. Usually, I don’t think that is fair, but in this case, I think it is necessary so that the last 10 posts of this community are not just leftypol meme spam, and people get a better idea of what kind of content belongs here. Otherwise, I am letting old rule-breaking content stay for posterity.

I look forward to seeing more great pictures and more activity here.

What about the links to image galleries? It may be useful to state that they are allowed. Although I wouldn’t allow them in the first place, otherwise you have a lot of link content which distracts from this community

I’m not yet a poster here, but I’d keep it as simple and short as possible. Noone wants to read a lot of text if it doesn’t add any value.

    1. Images, pictures or digital art only.
    2. Meta posts without images are allowed.
    3. No distracting superimposed text or emojis.
    4. No low quality MS paint-esque drawings.
    5. General lemmy.ml rules.

And link the lemmy.ml rules, I can’t find them right now :s

Hey, thanks for the feedback. I wanted short and simple rules with a description that follows for people who are still confused. But I see now that the descriptions kind of blend in. I need to look into markdown more and then I can make them easier to read.

You seem to have a lot of ideas. I can make you a mod if you like?

The lemmy.ml rules are on the sidebar of the homepage. They don’t have a dedicated page.

Thx, i found them. You can’t see the sidebar on lemmur. There are only four rules, why not simply adding them?

        1. No bigotry - including racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, or xenophobia. Code of Conduct.
        2. Be respectful. Everyone should feel welcome here.
        3. No porn.
        4. No Ads / Spamming.

There’s not much to markdown link.

Thx for the offer for moderating but I don’t think you need much help here.

I took inspiration from these rules when making this communities rules. I’ll keep your suggestions in mind for the future.
For now though I think the current rules have worked well enough. There’s never been a lot of activity on this community sadly. The only problem where the rules needed to be addressed was that one leftypol person who deleted their account, so they won’t be causing problems anymore.
