Summary

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination for health secretary advanced in a party-line vote by the Senate Finance Committee.

Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), despite concerns over Kennedy’s anti-vaccine views, supported the nomination after securing commitments from the administration.

Kennedy faced scrutiny over Medicaid knowledge gaps and potential conflicts of interest.

The nomination now moves to the full Senate for consideration.

Cassidy is a doctor who was “concerned” over RFK’s anti vac views but still confirms him. Yeah, that was all political theater. Hope all who voted get polio.

RSV, Marburg, H5N1, etc, there’s all sorts of things we used to think, “oh a witch has cursed me”. Now we know that a lot of these things were the fallout from infectious disease. That’s why science exists, so we can learn over time to do better with the resources we have.
