Just wondering, officially communists are atheists. But there are still many temples inside China? Is that a contradiction? Also there are many more different faiths inside china:

  • Muslims
  • evangelical christians *…

How compatible are these with Confucianism? As far as I understand Confucianism is not really a religion? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confucianism

    If I had to wager a guess I’d say both Confucianism and Buddhism are more philosophies than religions. I have known many who practice Buddhist teachings and traditions on top of whatever religion they consider themselves to be.

      I heard that chinese are praying to ghosts or ancestor spirits or something. Is that true? Is HongKong more “tradionalist” than the rest in that sense?
