Summary

A U.S. appeals court ruled that the Justice Department can release Special Counsel Jack Smith’s report on Donald Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election.

While a Judge Aileen Cannon’s temporary block remains in effect for three more days, the decision paves the way for the report’s release as early as next week.

The report will focus on the 2020 election probe, as the classified documents portion remains restricted to Congress due to ongoing legal cases.

Trump denies wrongdoing, calling the investigations politically motivated.

lol, even if the investigation is politically motivated, the findings might - and probably will - be quite objectively illegal, traitorous, immoral, etc

I just wonder if there will be anything that we didn’t already know. I feel like we are so desensitized to Trump’s bullshit that nothing will make a difference.

In a court filing a while back, Smith said he was ready to prove the motive behind why Trump took the documents, which is the one big question that remained unanswered. I really hope that’s included. There are lots of possible motivations, and I honestly never thought we’d find out. We probably still won’t, but there’s plenty of other new information this report could give us.

The classified case is still stuck in congress. I suspect that will never see the light of day.
