A logo for Free Software

Well Open Source is something different to Free Software, so I think it’s a great idea.
Sadly, there’s no clear set of constraints when to use the logo. What does Free Software mean? Is it free as in beer? Free as in freedom? What is freedom anyway?
Here’s the text from the Codeberg README:
The Free Software Logo is released by Robert Martinez under Creative Commons Zero 1.0.
It is supposed to only indicate Free Software as defined by the Free Software Foundation. Please DO:
- use the logo wherever you need to represent Free Software
- colorize the Logo to fit your design requirements
Please DO NOT:
- deform the logo by stretching, compressing or skewing
Cool, thanks! Didn’t see this on the linked site.
