Hey everyone! I thought I’d give a quick update on what’s going on behind the scenes for the next general release of Thunder for those who are curious and are not yet part of our Matrix space.

We are gearing up to release the next general version of Thunder soon with a whole bunch of fixes, changes, and additions! The plan is to have the release version ready sometime within the next week (if everything goes well). Just some things to look forward to:

  • Complete overhaul to the Floating Action Button to include customizable actions, and multiple actions
  • Inbox unread indicators. No more trying to guess if you have any notifications or not!
  • Brand new Create Post screen redesign (the Create Comment screens will come in due time)
  • Top level comment navigation buttons
  • Improvements to UI all around, to make things cleaner and better to use
  • More under the hood localization improvements to make way for translations

    I initially waited a month or so for Sync for Lemmy to come out to really sink my teeth into different instances and browse more often, but what I’m finding is that I have come right back to Thunder. Absolute kudos to you and all who’ve helped thus far, it’s really a great app. Looking forward to the updates!

    Dang, i wish i’m an app dev and contribute, there’s a few minor ux issue i wanna mod but i don’t know where to start 😂

    Howdy!

    First off, phenomenal work on the app so far. I’m absolutely enjoying it. It’s a tossup for me between this and Memmy as being the best Lemmy mobile app.

    If I may make a request though, could we get the ability to report posts and comments?
