Spy takes off his mask, something he has never done before, just to make his grand daughter happy (and possibly leading her to grow up to become a spy herself), also revealing that he does bear some physical resemblance with Scout. And Scout is completely clueless to all of it.
Saxton quits his CEO position to get back with Margaret and do what he truly loves: Fighting wild beasts bare handed together. They have now grown old, are weakening and outnumbered. This could be their last stand. And if they survive this encounter, it is implied that they will keep doing what they love until it finally kills them. They are being granted the best fitting ending for them: The typical death of wild apex predators.
This brings a tear to my eye. This grade A+ writing.
While I have fallen off with the rise of bots lack of care given to TF for a long time… TF2 was, still, and will always be, a big part of my life. Endless evenings spent playing with friends, bullshitting, laughing, having a grand old time while playing classic maps and ridiculous (in the best way) community maps. Many nights waking up the next morning unable to speak just from the sheer laughter and joy we experienced and shared the night before…
The Comics gave a story line, and a life, to the characters, and the setting.
And the way its all brought to a sudden and abrupt conclusion at the end of the comic, i’m not gonna lie, tears fell. The great friends I used to play with are all gone, and have been gone, for years. And now the characters through who I spent my time with them are now gone to, with the conclusion to the story, and the final chapter of the game.
Its heartbreaking, and depressing, and a cruel reminder of the fleetingness of life and relationships.

“What, do you want to live forever?”
Not forever, but having a few more years my old friends would have been nice.
