“We are raising funds to support a critical legal defense in the fight against unchecked corporate power and a system that continues to favor the few over everyone else. This case isn’t just about one individual—it’s about challenging a status quo that protects the interest of the powerful at the expense of justice and fairness,” read one of the fundraising pages that was quickly removed by GoFundMe.

Yup, here’s hoping. With a little luck, some would-be mass shooters will also hopefully reconsider their objectives after seeing how much love Luigi is getting and at least go out doing something positive for society instead of shooting innocent people. School shootings are so 1998 and real virgin behavior.

You’re missing the point. You were incredulous at being banned. I explained why. Now you’re saying “yes I did that.” So that’s why you were banned. Advocating for violence/murder.

      Do you get it?

Yes, I 100% know why I was banned by a corporate website that abandoned the policy of free speech they were founded on years ago. I don’t care. I’m done playing nice and thinking and saying what I’m “supposed to.” Fuck these people and all who lick their boots.

My question is what is Lemmy about? Can I say I’m glad that CEO got shot and I hope it becomes a new positive trend in the world here? Cause that’s my honest take, and it’s been so refreshing to see that it’s the predominant take among friends, family, and coworkers in the real world as well. We think Luigi is just great.

Well, that’s a real bummer. Not like I’m saying I want to do it personally. Bit too old for revolution. Haha. I am absolutely cheering it on from the sidelines though. Go Luigi #1!

I think what a lot of people on Lemmy and the broader Fediverse don’t seem to appreciate is that instance Admins can be held liable for the contents of their instances. The obvious example is CP, but it extends well beyond that, so when we go on these boards and start saying things that will get the attention of government authorities, we are actually putting instance Admins in a very difficult and unenviable position because we want to chest pound and sound tough. If what you were doing could somehow drive change or whatever I would be more supportive of it potentially. But ultimately this is just tough guy shit on the Internet, and I don’t think it’s fair for the admins to have to face serious repercussions over it (almost all of which are spending their money to make this happen).

The only instances that are truly “free speech” platforms are either actually not truly free speech platforms where all is allowed OR they are just counting down the days until they have to stop or are otherwise shutdown.

I don’t agree that it’s “tough guy” shit at all because, again, nowhere am I saying I have the balls to do what this great man did. He’s the tough guy. I just have a righteous justice boner from his honorable actions and hope to see more of it. So I’m speaking out in favor of the actions of a true hero of the people. That is all.

Attention from the feds? What are they going to do about it? It’s not a crime to approve of the shooter’s actions. It’s not a crime to be happy somebody is dead. If they plan to investigate everybody who merely approves of this event, they sure have their work cut out for them… because it rightfully appears to be the majority of the population.

It is potentially a crime to call for people to kill other people. Yes you are probably fine. But the admin has to be the one to deal with it, and you’re far from the only jabroni acting way. On my server I remove that shit immediately and warn the person. Second time they’re banned.

What do you think entire previous chain of comments was about? You didn’t just say you approved. You didn’t just say you were happy. You said you want other people to go out and kill billionaires like he did. We literally just went over this. You said that true.

Think of the people who have to clean up your shit. Most of the admins who make all this possible are doing us a great service.
