One of the worst parts (from my perspective, as a woman who wishes to help them) is that they’ve become unreachable. They’ve become primed to tune out the voices and opinions of anyone who isn’t cis-male. The rest of us can do little more than worry as they go deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole, because anything we say or do is liable to make them burrow even deeper. But in my experience, most of them will shrug off emotional labor tasks at every available opportunity. I’d love for a guy who feels offended by that statement to prove me wrong. I’d love to see them spurred to take action, even if just out of spite. Sadly, the most I can expect is a downvote and/or a futile, self-defensive rant.
