    My mom dropped on us, on Friday, after Thanksgiving, the news that she has a mass on her lung. PET scan on Monday will confirm recurrance of lung cancer or not. This would be her 5th instance of cancer, and 3rd within a year. She has been in near-constant pain for about 6 months now, after chemo and radiation at the beginning of the year, and all the side-effects and ailments that followed. She was barely able to sit at the table at Thanksgiving, but wanted to, anyway. I expect she will choose to forego treatment, if this cancer is confirmed.

    I respect the joke, but man, this one hit me.

      Sorry to hear it. I’ve found that for me, taking grief head-on and laughing at relevant black humor is helpful. Hopefully this helped you process in the same way, or at the very least hope it didn’t make things worse. At any rate, I’m just an internet stranger but here’s a hug anyways 🫂
