Because they’ve been so keen on being law-abiding do-gooders this whole time, right.

I mean they should be aware that criminal charges stack up right? They’re not going to get anything good from making their own situation worse by doxxing customers (multiple comments on their profile giving out the email addresses of their customers). That isn’t going to help them and is just going to make it so much worse for them.

I have to imagine that the person or people behind Real Debrid are quite likely slightly delusional. You kinda have to be if you want to start up a piracy business. People who set up these sorts of operations generally go through life under the impression that they’re invincible, that they’ll never get caught, that whatever legal loophole they’ve devised using SovCit logic is going to save them, etc. I very much doubt he cares about stacking up charges, because in his mind he’ll never face them.

That’s a good point, the people who start these kinds of services, especially in countries like France tend to be of the SovCit delusional variety, and they probably do indeed believe they are invincible or won’t get in real trouble for what they’re doing.

Charges don’t stack in France. CNIL is gutless and useless. The worst that could happen to them is a small fine.
