If you have time, please consider filing one out. The results will be posted in a few weeks, and should give an interesting look into steam deck users, and how owning a deck has changed their gaming habits.
I really hope we see a Steam Controller 2. The Deck’s trackpads are chef’s kiss and I want a controller with the Deck’s layout for docked mode
Yes! I want to play Factorio in docked mode but I need trackpads and back buttons for it
Yeah seriously. I have an original steam controller, but I want something that has the full layout of a standard controller plus track pads/back buttons/gyro.
You know the original Steam controller has gyro input?
I did know that. I usually use the “gyro + flickstick” combination for fps games on the deck though, so the lack of a right thumbstick on the original steam controller means I still can’t use my preferred gyro control scheme.
My biggest frustration with the original steam controller thought is that I can’t get the BLE firmware update to work properly. I can use it with the original firmware, but trying to install valve’s BLE update (so that the controller can wake the steam deck from sleep) results in a non-functional controller until I downgrade.
That’s very odd. Have you factory reset the controller then done the upgrade?
I think so, but it’s been awhile, so I’ll try it again.
I blanked out on that question, but I knew I should write something so I said “Guitar hero controller”
For what it’s worth, I was able to remotely walk my brother through getting Clone Hero working on his Deck with a used GH controller from Ebay having never done it myself. It’s not too difficult!
Exactly why I said it, it was my most recent experience. I bought a used Wii guitar and changed the insides using a kit from Etsy.
am i crazy or were the wii guitars like, uncharacteristically good? they’re the only ones i had growing up, and then i bought a ps2 guitar for clone hero recently and it’s TRASH in comparison!

Done!
This was the best survey experience Ive ever had, really felt tailored to every type of user and not broad in the slightest.
