Memmy is currently my daily driver but I’m hoping a native swift app eventually takes that role.

Lemmios is pretty good for such early days.

I got to ask, is the Bean app named after the big Bean memes that occurred to Lemmy?

Bean is my go to at the moment, although I do have others installed. Need to do a proper comparison at some stage.

      Bean just “feels” good.

I wish I could use it, but one thing that stops me using it is that it doesn’t show the community instance. For example, if I’m in the Technology community, am I in Technology@lemmy.world or Technology@lemmy.ml?

You know what? That limitation hadn’t even occurred to me. I’ll have to look into whether it’s being addressed. Pretty important.

Edit: which apps do then? Just checked a few others and they don’t. Is it just a web thing?

Edit 2: so Avalon does(only if you tap into the community) but I’m less keen on it’s design and it doesn’t run natively on an iPad. I guess I’ll just have to hope it becomes considered an essential.

How odd; my Memmy doesn’t. It has a toggle for instance on username but not community.

              This needs further investigation.

I suggest that you uninstall it and install it again. I resolved a lot of issues that way.

                  ~~Well, I don’t understand it. I’ve re-downloaded the latest TestFlight and it’s just not there. ~~

                  It is, I’m an idiot!

Haven’t tested all of these, but many do not work on ios 12. Thunder is my current favorite that does. Old iPad gang gang. Edit : only liftoff also works, but crashes. Didn’t try the github links, only test flight and app store.

Yeah that’s a tough one. For Mlem we want to use SwiftUI which largely requires iOS 16+

Olympus never lets me install it just says update your device to install even though i have the latest ios. They must not allow older iPhones for some reason. All the others work

Beyond is upcoming, already on early access for android but it still has some missing features and bugs to exterminate.
