They’re already being accused of being transphobic, even though BBC’s research and development has nothing to do with any of that stuff.
Classic Mastodon moment
Because people can view the global timeline there? Wouldn’t it make sense to only show their local timeline and disable the global one? At least they’re not making the mistake of letting people sign up there
I’m ready for a mastodon sized BBC
Elephant. Sized. Dong.
“social.bbc” wow, I bet absolutely nobody on the internet will view this url and think the site is designed for NSFW activities
You can’t fault the British Broadcasting Corporation for making a poor acronym choice back in 1922. Just look at Ayds, the weight reducing diet supplement.
But I can absolutely fault them for picking a domain name in 2023 that uses that same acronym
Are you suggesting the BBC should get a new name?
How about BWC: British Worldcasting Company
I’m suggesting that “social.bbc” looks like a website for hookups
So are they never allowed to abbreviate their name anymore?
What? If you see that and don’t think of the British broadcasting corporation then I’d say that’s a you problem.
What does this mean?
This.. Just keep on scrolling. It’s down there somewhere.
British Broadcasting Corporation. A non-profit making, publically funded TV corporation in the UK. Is run according to public service guidelines. Known for its quality sports, documentary and news coverage. Considered by many to be overly liberal and have a pro-Arab, anti-US/Israel slant in its news reporting.
I’d rather have them than Threads.
