Seems like the genre isn’t that popular anymore, so curious to hear the suggestions

Really? I feel like situational comedies are quite popular.

I can’t pick a favorite, it would be one of the big ones like Scrubs or something so I’ll just list that I’m currently rewatching Modern Family (mostly for background noise, it’s only ok as a show), I just finished Superstore (first watch), and before that I rewatched Brooklyn Nine-Nine and A.P. Bio.

Sitcom is a pretty broad definition, were you referring to the kind of older style with obvious sets, and an audience or laugh track? Yeah, that style isn’t really popular right now, I agree. Good riddance though, I hate laugh tracks.

I would say shows which main objective is to make people laugh. Friends is the classic, but I also include The Office in that definition

B99 finished 4 years ago, same for Superstore, MF in 2020, AP Bio in 2021, that’s why I was asking for current shows 😄

Thanks for AP Bio by the way, it’s the first time I hear about it.

Huh. Good point. I can’t imagine them going away though. I watch The Great North which is an animated sitcom that’s still currently airing, does that count?

Plus there’s Resident Alien which isn’t technically a sitcom because it’s sci fi, but it’s basically a sitcom. That’s great, popular, and still airing.

I take your point though that there might not be a ton out right now but I also don’t exactly have my finger on the pulse of the current releases.

Believe it or not, I’m enjoying Friends. It’s been long enough that I’ve forgotten most of it and it has lots of nostalgic tech (or lack of it).
