It was actually good, it’s basically a political drama set in feudal Japan. Also it is very interesting with a translation twist, like oil and water that don’t mix yet they make it work.

This ain’t the politics you’re thinking of. Most stunning show I’ve seen in ages, if ever.
Think of it like the politics in Game of Thrones. It’s used to build the drama.
