Really starting to question how much papa Stroll is going to throw money at the team until he accepts that his own son is keeping the team back. It doesn’t matter if you give Stroll the best car he’s not going to win the WDC and he’s also a liability when it comes to the WCC.

Yup. It was clear to me that the Racing Point they had years ago (you know, the year they shamelessly copied Merc’s design) was the second best car on the grid, but neither Stroll nor Perez could properly take advantage of it. Call me crazy, but I reckon if Hamilton were in that car, he’d still have won WDC.

If Stroll were anybody but the team owner’s son, he’d have been gone long ago. I admire that Lawrence loves his son so much, though.

I actually think Papa Stroll would be fine with Alonso getting the WDC for him, as long as it’s his team. But all of this obviously isn’t working.

Let’s say Newey develops another class leading car, same sort of advantage over the rest of the field as his best, does Senior implement team orders to benefit Junior so he can win the title? Or even worse, does he bring someone like Mazspin in who Lance cab beat, Lance isn’t good, but hes way better than Mazspin. Or do we see a worse mauling than Checo vs. Max? Or Lewis vs. Hekki?

You’re spot on there, at some point Stroll Snr is going to have make the tough decision, but necessary one, if the team are realise their ambition’s.

There’s a lot of exciting changes happening and coming in the next few years that seem to have potential to keep the sport interesting / unpredictable.

The way this season started, I never would have expected to get to this point in the season with 7 different race winners, a team threatening to take the lead in the WCC from Red Bull, and at least one driver with a reasonable shot at taking down Max Verstappen.

Hopefully the next few years can be at least as interesting.

A team? Hell, Ferrari is a good weekend away from being in the mix too. 3 way WCC fight with 7 people fighting for race wins? Incredible.

Makes the 25 season an interesting one for Aston.

Do you write it off and let Newey get all the resources for the new regs.

Or try and support the two projects.
