Apropos of nothing, I wonder for the thousandth time what it is that drives otherwise sane people to produce web pages with light grey text on an off-white background.
most older people prefer mild pastel colours. while people age, most develop a taste for that and sometimes that leads to low contrast websites.
Obviously it is a matter of taste. But where do such hideous tastes emerge from? What was their origin? How are they perpetuated? How, in the end, can we defeat them and return to something my aged eyes can more easily cope with?
