Just tried it, too, and I get the same error message. Seems to be a bug on their side. In that error message, there is a slash missing between “.com” and “opensearch.xml”, so that’s probably why it can’t download it.
I’ve tried to contact them via their Mastodon-account, but no idea, if they check that inbox (or if it even is their official account, since they don’t seem to mention Mastodon on their webpage).
You can also right-click on the URL-bar when you’re on https://www.qwant.com and then there should be an entry 'Add “Qwant” '.

I would recommend following the instructions of @blue_penquin@lemmy.ml or @mickie@lemmy.ml for now.
I just tried it. I’m getting the same error. You could try one of these, they seem to work for me: https://mycroftproject.com/search-engines.html?name=qwant

I don’t know anything about the website, but I believe I found it somewhere in Firefox settings, though it doesn’t seem to be there anymore.
