    Lol, spend billions to make a brand. Then overhype it, pay inflated price to acquire said brand and now decide to kill the brand. Master genius!

      “Quick, our ad revenue is shrinking, what do we do? Restricting people from seeing tweets and defeating the whole purpose of why they’re on the platform didn’t work (yet)!”

      “I’ve got it, we get rid of the whole name. From now on companies will say to follow them on X! That won’t lose them any viewership at all!”

      “But if they’re going to mention a new name to people anyway, wouldn’t this be the perfect opportunity for them to leave for another platform? All they have to do is say to follow on them Mastodon instead of X”
