I don’t need to go through all of trumps offenses for you to know he’s truly a despicable person who has never faced a real consequence his entire life.
Shout out to those who didn’t win the genetic lottery, I’ll cast my lot with you. Real trauma deserves real compassion.
It’s a religious pitfall called the “Gospel of Prosperity”
If you assume that the righteous are always blessed with prosperity, then it can be assumed that the poor are poor because they are wicked.
Breaks down pretty quickly when you remember that wealthy people can be wicked (Matthew 19:24 makes a good argument that it’s difficult for them to be anything else), and that good people often go through really hard times (e.g. Job)
Too bad Jesus didn’t have anything to say about how his followers should treat the destitute 🤷♂️
