I’m very new to Fediverse. I’ve seen that WriteFreely is a blogging software that has some integration with Mastodon and I decided to try it. However I don’t see any options for readers to comment on posts. Do you know if that feature is enabled already or still not?

Thank you. However, I’m on an online installation that is not mine. Also, the methods pointed in the post require readers to have accounts on GitHub or other service. This is not my case, I would allow anonymous comments.

Note that this isn’t integrated into the fediverse in any way. It is basically just slapping any old comment system on top of the post.

I would expect that a proper comment system would allow things such as relying from any old fediverse account.

Look into Plume! That has a bit more of the expectation you would have for a blog with fediverse comments. Also there is a wordpress plugin that works much the same way.

I might try that. Federated commenting would be incredibly useful. Unless you already have a popular blog there’s not a lot of reason for anyone to make an account just to comment.

You can actually comment using a Mastodon account. Search for the blopost’s URL and it should come up.
