Hi,
I’ve found a problem in Connect, where I can use pinch-to-zoom when viewing an image, but when I try to pan/scroll the image, Connect returns me to the previous screen instead.
To replicate:
- Find a post with an attached image.
- Tap the thumbnail to view the image.
- Use the pinch gesture to zoom in.
- Try to pan by pressing on the screen and moving your finger.
- Connect exits the image viewer and returns to the previous view (post or list).
I see this too. I’m assuming the “click on an open image to close it” logic is thinking that dragging the image around counts as clicking on it
What version are you on? I’m on the beta, 1.0.97, and it works fine. Also, if you could provide an example post with this issue, that would assist with determining the cause. I’m thinking maybe this could bewith specific file types?
I was on 1.0.95, though it still happens after updating to 96.
I found the first image I could and it happens: https://lemmy.ml/post/2280768
I actually think the issue is something else though. When zoomed far in it doesn’t happen, but when zoomed in a little it does close.
It appears to be some functionality where the image closes when you try to swipe it away, but connect thinks I want to swipe away when I just want to pan while zoomed.
Ahh… okay, I’m seeing it now. It is an issue with all images and not specific types or posts. Basically when the image viewer rubberbands, it closes. So this occurs when you flick the image far enough to the top or bottom that would normally cause the page to scroll, it closes the image viewer. That’s why this doesn’t happen when you’re zoomed in or flick the image to the sides. You don’t need to pan at all for the issue to occur.
Fold3, I’m not experiencing this.
Pixel 4a, connect 1.0.95
Can’t replicate, zoom and pan works fine
