I like your comment, genuinely, but I have to remark on the fact that you claimed that you disliked the use of social media to vent… then continue to write a massive vent post about social media. I feel like I understand where you’re coming from and I think that social media can be a place for serious discussions. light-hearted trolling and emotional catharsis at the same time. It’s good to have all of those communities available - it’s just not maybe so great to have them overlapping all on the same platform. That’s what makes Lemmy a genuinely good step in the right direction, imo.

The only thing I really disagree with is your claim that fascists deserve a place to talk amongst themselves. That’s just a breeding ground for hateful ideology and stochastic terrorism, imo.
